IRCC lists October 27, 2026 as the expiry date for temporary immigration measures for eligible Sudanese nationals in Canada. Ottawa residents who may qualify should check the current application instructions promptly.

The program page, updated October 14, describes fee-exempt applications to extend or change temporary status as a visitor, worker or student. It requires Sudanese nationality, a valid Sudanese passport and valid temporary resident status in Canada when applying and when a decision is made.

IRCC says there are no special measures to restore expired temporary status; regular restoration fees and requirements apply.

The underlying public policy was signed December 29, 2025. It says applications received before its expiry will be processed under the policy, subject to the remaining eligibility and admissibility requirements.

This deadline notice concerns temporary-status measures. Applicants should use the instructions for their specific situation and should not assume approval.
