Your campus. Your city. Your perspective.

What story would you tell?
The Eye on Ottawa Student Voices Initiative welcomes original contributions from adult students at uOttawa, Carleton, Algonquin and other Ottawa institutions. Share campus experiences, ask useful questions and help readers understand the city we share. No university partnership or endorsement is claimed.
Write. Create. Be heard.
Contribute as a writer or content creator: interviews, event previews, photo stories, sports, technology, business and community perspectives. A phone camera and microphone can be a starting point. Beginners are welcome.
Accepted contributions will be published under your agreed name and highlighted here alongside their relevant topic sections. Receive editing feedback and a live portfolio link. All work requires editorial approval; there is no automatic or unrestricted publishing access.
Contribute a story
Download the 10-page initiative booklet and fillable interest form (PDF, approximately 14 MB)
Type your answers on the final page, save the PDF and email it to info@eyeonottawa.ca. You can instead email a short introduction, writing interests and a brief story pitch. No test article or purchase is required.
Voluntary and unpaid: No payment is currently offered for optional submissions. No required shifts, hours or article quotas. You can decline topics or pause without penalty. This does not waive any legal entitlement to wages; a structured work arrangement requires a separate review. No internship, academic credit or future job is promised.
Your work and your privacy
You retain copyright in original work. Agree a written, non-exclusive publication licence before publication. Public biographies, photos and newsletter subscriptions require separate consent.
We use application answers to assess interest and contact you. Access is limited to those handling submissions. Unsuccessful applications are deleted within 90 days unless you agree to longer retention. Contact info@eyeonottawa.ca for access, correction or deletion, subject to legal requirements. Do not send ID documents, student numbers or sensitive personal information.
